Dear Parents,
The Cause Student Ministry is a great ministry for any student 7th through 12th grade. We try to create a loving fun environment that is based on relationships rather than rules. We want the students to enjoy their time at church or church events. We want the students to know that the Lord loves them and so do we. We do hold them to a high standard, and we will challenge them scripturally. We believe both can happen simultaneously. How does this happen? The adult leadership!
Our adult leaders are the back bone of our ministry. We have some amazing youth leaders who teach and guide the students on a day-to-day basis. The students respond to these adults who genuinely love and care for them. They also respond to the truth. Our adults do their best at revealing Biblical truth and simply being honest with the kids about our lives and about theirs.
I want to encourage you to not only get your children involved at FBC, but for you too to get involved. We always need adults to help with youth events; from teaching and leading to driving, cooking or simply being there. We need your help and so do the students.
I want to give you some helpful websites for parents. The first is Student Ministry Essentials. SME has a page for parents that will give you numerous websites to visit for articles, books, sermons and helpful hints in dealing with your children. The second is Student Life. SL is what our Sunday school teachers use to teach your students and you might find some helpful things on their site. Finally, we have listed Focus on the Family. Dr. James Dobson has been a huge help to parents for many years and I hope he can be to you.
